Another Shutter Count

I have been wondering about the shutter count on a used 40D I purchased a few weeks ago. According to my card count I keep tabs on I have shot 800. I now have 2301 total. I'm happy!

I found this thread on another site and it works, at least on the 40D. It gives a lot more info than I can comprehend, Try it. I used a JPEG photo.

The easier way to do this is upload your last image onto flickr (making sure you didnt edit the image in any program like photoshop because some programs like photoshop will remove some exif data. Then once it is loaded onto flickr go to the photos page and click "More Properties" on the right side of the page, that will load all the images information my camera has taken 7108 photos.

I doubt that More Properties from the image posted on Flickr gives the proper shutter actuation count.
More likely that it shows the image count.

To get accurate shutter actuation number for 40D (and some other models) use this free program:
