There's little to instruct really.

- Use like any other lens.
- Keep it dry and clean.
- When in autofocus mode, pull the focus ring forward to disconnect. Just so it won't turn during autofocus. Push back for manual.

And that's about it I think.

The thing that's got me is the switch labeled: Full----Limit.

What's it do?

It limits the focus range so the lens doesn't have as far to hunt. Because the thread of the focus ring/barrel is so much finer on macro lenses the lens barrel has to turn further (and thus takes longer) to get from infinity to 1:1 macro. The switch will limit the lens so that it only has to search for focus between 1:2 - 1:1.

Nothing useful. Erm... well it does something with limiting the focus. Here's what the manual says (pardon the bad English, it's a literal copy of what's in there):

The 105mms Manual wrote:
="The 105mm's Manual"]
Focus Limiter Switch
This lens a Focus Limiter switch. When the Limiter is set at "FULL" position, the focus ring can turn between the minimum distance and the infinity position. When the Limiter is set at "LIMIT" position, the focus ring can turn either at Close range (between 0.313m and 0.37m) or at Normal range (between 0.4m and infinity).

I believe this can sometimes prevent hunting in less-than-ideal light situations using autofocus.
