Great pics.

We are bracing ourselves but I don't think the water may not get as high here. We did get around 6 inches of really wet snow this morning. That can't help any. We were sure worried for you folks down in Fargo and Grand Forks especially when the high winds we a threat to the dykes.

Well, the water has gone down about 5 feet from the 49.5 feet that we had about a week ago. Cold weather stopped the melt and kept new water fron entering the river system. Now the weather has warmed into the 40's again and the spring thaw is back on. the water should be back to 48-50' by the end of next week as the rest of the winter's snow melts away. This should be good news for Winnipeg as well, the same amount of water, just spread out over a few weeks instead of all at once. Fargo has built all new dikes thinking that the first ones may not be up for a second go-around. The Sorlie Bridge downtown remains closed, although the water is not over the bridge anymore. they figured that there was no reason to open it if they would just have to close it again next week.

Here a a few pics from along interstate 29 between Grand Forks and Grafton,ND to the north. the road was closed for several days because of water, we traveled on it the first day it was reopened. C&C welcome! on the second photo, you can see the dirt that was put around the house.

Thanks for the latest update. I guess it was best that it got cold and kept the melting snow at bay so to speak. Still looks like folks did suffer from property damage but it could have been worse. The news around here hasn't given any updates on the situation since your post was started. Hope everything is well for you. Still looking forward for future updates and thanks again for all your hard work.
