Just to further you money spending:

Rob

you are not helping and I have just reserved a 430 at comets. my wife thinks my new lens is going to cost £200. My sony has gone to £335. This is the first pricey thing I have sold on ebay and getting quite excited. Got a long way to go if I am going to get my first 'L'. It did feel good in my hands....Brett and Chris warned me not to play with it.

Here are my best efforts of the day
....
Had a great day with Brett and Chris even if I only made it for a few hours. Good to finally meet you both. Shooting birds in flight is bloody difficult even more respect for Pete.

Nice shots, Adrian, you did well with the birds there. Nice! :) Hopefully next time we can chat for a bit longer :)

I think Chris mentioned it but I did not see it on the official web site. They only flew two birds but it did last for quite a while. Took loads of shots of them in flight but only a few worth posting.

I forgot to mention the funniest bit of the day was the eagle shat on my camera bag. I had left it open so was lucky it landed on the strap. Not the souvenir I was expecting:confused::confused:

I am planning on going to Richmond Park on Tuesday for more deer shots and harass the poor Kingfisher if you and anyone else is interested. you can get quite close to them as per the below picture which is not cropped

A few floral shots from today as well

Taken with Chris' 100-400 ideal for close-ups

Not to sure if this works playing around with placement of the subject

You did better with the 100-400 than me I reckon, lovely shots :D It suits you ;)

Waaaa, and I thought it was just a park shoot with bluebells, not actual animals!

Great set of shots all! Prefer the crop too Chris :)

Need a car myself so I can attend the next rural meet. :o

Even on Flickr someone mentioned the crop. I'm someone can drop on by and pick you up for the next one :)

Hopefully won't be carless for long. Just depends on where I end up work wise. :)

I did not mean an aggressive crop, just a little trim to bring the focus through the picture a bit more.

Something like this ( i hope you don't mind me cropping your image Chris!)

Ah! I thought you were going to crop the tree out altogether!?! hehe!

I like it. Still like the original, but the crop certainly puts more of the focus on the deer. ;)
