It's rained the past three races so I've been getting lots of practice in trying to keep the gear dry. Here's a sample from each race.
Day 1. It just poured all afternoon. For a while, I found a file cabinet near a dumpster that I put my backpack in to help keep it it some what dry, otherwise, I just stuffed my camera inside my rain jacket in between laps.
James Stemper (Gear Grinder Pro Development Team). I think this is his first Catagory 2 win.

Day 2. Another day of gully washer thunderstorms, plus temps in the mid 40's. I was very fortunate to have a parking spot right near the finish line, so I spent most of the day sitting in the car shooting out of the passenger side window. Lots of problems with the telescopic lenses fogging on the inside though.

Day 3. Just a light rain on day three, but constant. Kept the 40D bodies dry with a zip lock bag held in place with big rubber bands. Kind of hard to see through that plastic, but had no problems with the gear otherwise. The 580EXII flash is quite water resistant and the lenses stayed mostly dry if I just kept them pointing down.

Racing continues this weekend over towards the Mississippi River, hoping for a little sunshine for a change!
