Im pretty sure you have to go ALL the way through. Like to the last screen. AFTER you enter your CC info and all...

i think w/ amazon, they don't discount the $200 rebate but adjust the price accordingly as their price always changes. Right now, they have it at $1507 showing a $491 discount versus $1507- $200 discounts or their previous price of $1641 - $200 instant rebates = $1441

I was hoping for a rebate on the 24-105 L. Sigh.

Unfortunately, I already have the lenses I would buy with the rebate.

I bought my 50D at the end of last year when prices were really low so the lack of camera body rebates is not an issue for me.

You should just try to find one used, you can usually get them at a great discount as people get them in the kit with the 5D/5DMKII and try and sell them right away many times.

Are they just trying to spark sales or do you think they are clearing existing models to make way for next gen lenses?

We'll never know for sure. Historically rebates are just that, rebates. They had no significant implications of upcoming lenses/cameras. However, there are rumors that a few lenses will be updated/changed. Most notably are the 70-200 2.8 IS and maybe the 24-70mm 2.8L. Someone said a source told him/her that we will see something in August.

I just don't see any great deals out there, especially right after raising there prices. So much for low inflation, cheap oil and semi conductors, and other electronics.

Looks like the only way to find a real value from Canon, outside of used, one will have to go to the point & shoot segment of the market.:lol:

Yea I agree, there just a way to get a little extra off when your ready to by regardless of price. It was a little different with the double and triple rebates. Those were great deals and used to really push people on this forum to buy a lot of new gear.

hahaha - doesn't that figure. Out of all the lenses I'm interested in, absolutely are on that .pdf.

Count me in on the big O on rebates for the lens I just ordered. No rebates on the 24-105L but I'll enjoy using it none the less! Couldn't resist the 2 day shipping so I should have my hands on it on Wednesday.
