OK, I just did my part! Big brown truck came the other day and delivered a 100-400 USM IS L, a 580 EXII, and an ST-E2 and a filter for the new lens. The CC says OUCH! but the fun factor with second 580 and ST-E2 makes the pain go away - at least for now. I never knew how portable and versatile a "light kit" could be!

I was thinking about selling the 28-300 except that I noticed that it is not a bad macro lens with the focusing distance at 300mm. It is quite impressive!

I've done my part this month stimulating the economy. :D

28-300 IS L - 24-105 IS [COLOR=red]L - 100-400 IS L
580 EX - 580 EX II - ST-E2
Nice Canon Back-Pack and some other stuff...

I've done my part to stimulate the economy this year as well (though I did purchase a lot of used stuff too). The new gear I've purchased this year:

Sigma 50 f/1.4
Canon TS-E 24 f/3.5L
Canon 430 EX II

Nice gear list! I think of how much I have spent and then look at this! I still have some things on my wish list but that will have to wait after this last purchase. If I spend any more soon I will need a "bailout"!

Tamron 17-50
Tamron 28-75
Canon 50 f/1.4
Zeiss 50 f/1.7
S-M-C Takumar 50 f/1.4
Canon 85L
Canon 200 f/2.8L
1D Mark II
Sigma 105mm macro
Lensbaby 2

I wish I could help the economy by buying a couple of L's! Have fun with your gear. I think you're the first person I've seen on POTN to own the 28-300. If you did sell it you'd probably get a fair price for it if you advertised it at the right time.

Yeah, I haven't seen too many of them out there either. I thought it would be the "do all to end all" lenses that I would never take off the camera... then I bought a 24-105L and that all changed. The 28-300 is just too heavy to lug around all day, especially with a 580 and a battery grip attached. I shot a friends wedding with that setup and by the end of the day I couldn't lift my cell phone to my ear!

Don't get me wrong, I still love that lens and use it often.

I've been good all year:):) But that's bad for the economy, isn't it?:o:o Come September when I am rid of a $302 vehicle payment and another pension kicks in, it'll be Katy Bar the Door:D:D:D
