This is the 1st year that they have nested on my property. They are certainly the most colorful of Oklahomas birds.

Nice shots Rock. Much better than any PB shots I've managed. #2 is my favorite.

last year I took several dozen shots of painted buntings in a local park and due to foliage and my shortcomings as a photographer none were worth printing. I will have many more opportunities this year.

I also had laser eye surgery and that should help with the focus issue.

Is there nest on the ground or in a tree? The one time I've found a nest it was on the ground at the base of some plant.

Have yet to catch a good shot of this bird .... really like your shots .. best I have seen on this bird!
