Maybe not my best, but an example from today. I just LOVE my Zeiss 85 Sonnar. Honestly, every time I use it it blows me away. It truly has no flaws for what it is (obviously, it could be faster and have AF, but within the realm of what it does, it's honestly quite close to perfect.)

One of my coworkers (I was asked to take simple office portraits of the staff.):

Making a 2.8 with great IQ is easier done with fewer compromises and at much higher tolerances than say a 2.0 or 1.4...faster is brighter with less DoF for focusing that pops in and out (though the lack of DoF makes the focus that more critical), but wider is really rarely ever better when it comes to IQ...
Great example...

I am still working on my MF skills and kids are not an easy subject. I am pretty impressed with my in-focus rate, maybe 2/3, although I shoot a few less per "session" without AF. The Helios 44 is a pretty good lens, though, and the color is just awesome:

Just received this gem from a member on here, a CZJ Sonnar MC 135 3.5. I just got into MF lenses and am already seeing limitations w/my 350D. Manual focusing on a 350D can be tricky.

I can't shoot at the beach. For some reason, I attract beach bums and their Geiger counters. :rolleyes:

I would love to see more shots from the 135 as I have been considering that lens.

Yeah, MF can be tricky, but I have been surprised how much easier it is getting with practice. I have a 1000D, so the veiwfinder is no better - I do have liveview, though. Even with the larger cameras it is still tough to discern fine detail with modern viewfinders. Many people end up with special focusing screens. Unfortunately there are a lot of drawbacks with using them on the rebels (mainly no AF point markings/lights anymore).

Yeah, I am familiar w/the Katzeye and Haoda products, but like you mentioned there are a lot of drawbacks.

Unfortunately, I was only able to get 4 shots off w/the new lens as I have been quite busy as of late. Hopefully, this weekend I'll get some time to play with it and will update this post if I get a chance. That being said, there are numerous sample images out there w/this lens.

Got a chance to take a couple of shots this evening. My subject may not be too aesthetically pleasing, but it does demonstrate the len's sharpness;

very nice Ancientsanskrit!

I put that lens (cz 135 f3.5) on my nikon and took a few shots too (though it's intended for my daughter and her canon). I don't have infinity focus (because I took out the glass...it was awful but I can do a nice portrait distance with no issues).

I just got an adapter for the Mamiya/Sekor 55mm 1.8 that I found on Craigslist. I think this is going to be fun.

Those are great shots, Porky! I like front shot of the M3 and the portrait the most.

Of course, Corgi shots would be even better, no doubt! :D
