Help with PP PLEASE!!!

Okay... so I see a lot of nice PP on the eyes... please share. I have dabled with USM and High pass - but I would love to know the process you all use. I often feel like the eyes look too grainy when I'm done. In these edits they eyes look nice and smooth/glassy.

I must admit, I used some purchased Photoshop actions I have to improve the eyes. I was using Photoshop CS2, the first thing I did was run and action by TRA (Totally Rad Actions) called Pro Retouch (eye bump) to brighten both the colored eye part and the whites of the eyes. I then ran an action by Keven Kubota called Amazing Detail Finder and sharpened the eyes just a little to make the sparkle a little more. The whole process took about 2 minutes.

So you purchase these actions... two min is great and if they generally work on most photos I'm sure its worth it. Thanks for the info. I knew there had to be another way.

You can also do an adjustment curves layer. Take the middle point up towards the left hand corner (your image will look completely blown but that is OK that is what you want for the moment) click ok. Then click CTRL I (your picture should go back to original) take a soft white brush at low opacity a and paint over the eyes. Works like a charm No action needed and it takes like 5 seconds

Hm...I need to get a good photoshop book and learn all these tricks. I appreciate the specifics on curves...a lot of people will say things about "just do a curves adjustment" but I am new to photoshop and I never know exactly how to work curves to my advantage. Thanks again!
