Tell me what you think of these, criticism welcome. I have never done senior shots and I am no pro, but its my brother and I'm the one with the "good camera" so here they are. Taken with XSi/450D and Tamron 28-75mm 2.8.

Thanks for the input. We are printing more of #8 than any other IIRC. #5 wasn't far behind.

#8 is my favorite out of the set.

Not really a fan of the PP on #4. Also, watch the vignette when the subject is too far to the side (like #1, 2 & 5) where it darkens the subject so much it takes the focus off them. I still like #5, but it might be better if you could tone down the vignette on him.

The PP is fine for one or two but IMHO I think you went a little overboard, I also think that too many have the shades covering up what most want to see. You need to get at least on shot seated at the controls (flight deck) I also think a sunglass shot with a reflection of the plane would be cool.

How far along is he, any chance of in-flight pics?

Thanks for the advice. I see what you mean about the vignette.

Thanks for the advice and reflection idea. For the past month or two he has been only a few hours away from his private but school and work have kept him from finishing it off.

No decent in flight shots yet. Here is one where he's seated, but again with the sun glasses.

I do not like the colors of #1 and especially #4. I woud open up the aperture a couple of stops for #1 just to blur out that big plane in the background - very distracting as it took the focus off of your main subject away.

Cordially,
Ben

Not really digging the weird color shift you're applying to most of these. And he looks a little silly sitting on the runway in front of the plane in #7. He looks much better sitting on the wing instead.

I'd work on getting your subjects more comfortable, he looks incredibly nervous in all of these photos, and none of the expressions look genuine. It appears that he wants to get the hell out of there.

Why didn't your subject really smile?
