I got two aftermarket batteries for 1D/1Dmk2n from Amazon uk (external link). Similar results. I was shooting national power boat championship competition today and batteries are still going strong...

Happy to hear the aftermarket batteries have some life in them. That makes me feel a lot better about a 1D classic purchase!

I'm seeing better shots out of the 1D than I am from surfing all of the 1Ds shots that I have seen... Is it because it's a CCD?

And people say the 1650mAh batteries aren't worth the money! Mine doesn't die too quickly at the moment but I'm still planning on buying another one or two.

Yeah i´m able to get arroung 500-800 shot out of a single charge.
thats ok for me :)

Thats right, high quality lenses and filters do produce better pictures or better to say they will give you more quality to work with...:)

I can't remember any specific numbers but I think I've gotten about 300 shots shooting sports and with a bit of chimping on what we call an LCD screen  Not the best but it's not that bad, really.

Here's a question, Does anyone regret getting the 1650mAh batteries? (over the 2200mAh ones)

I'm well aware of that. But it seems like the CCD on the 1D handles noise and color a little better and I'm seeing better pictures overall from surfing here and the archives at pbase.

Hi Rabbs I got just on 300 raw shot on Sunday taking pics of the D Day event at our airfield, lots of A1 servo and focus chimps and my new 2200ah battery was on 2 bars.I looked on Trademe and see the Chch guy vpind is not listing any at the moment but another guy was selling 1600ah batteries for $59 buy now.I am pleased with the bat I purchaced from vpind for $49 it lasts 3 times longer than my old ones that are 2200ah but date on them is 2005 so they are well passed there prime
