I'm trying to save up for more gear after having to sell it for personal reasons. Unfortunately, although I'm not as bad with money as I used to be, photography is not my only hobby.

On a trip to the mall (and primarily Williams Sonoma) I ended up picking up a little toy!!

This probably won't be appreciated if you're not a chef (either professional or just enthusiastic home cook)

Only $130 out of my photo budget (and the only canon gear that my Ritz had was XTi, 40D and 50D. No 5D's or 1D's, so I couldn't even play with the gear I want.

Rebuilding my gear.
Wanted: 1D Classic or 1D Mark II

The Shun's are awesome! I am sure you'll have a lot of fun with it.

My choice was between the shun and the wusthoff ikon classic.

I wanted the shun because I liked the look, but I was fully aware I might have to forego buying it, if it didn't fit my hand. Luckily it fit my hand the best!!

I've cooked a few times tonight just to get used to a real chefs knife and it's literally renewed my passion for cooking in less than 6 hours!!!!

Best investment I've ever made in my kitchen.

Very nice knife.
