Being a little partial to a sunrise myself, here's one of mine.

Kenny,

I have heard the term "sulphurous sunset" but I think this is the first one I have seen.

Wow! Did you do something to the sky?

It's great how every sunset is always different....That's why you'd never get bored with them! :)

All I did with this one is adjust the levels to get a true black in the silhouette of the shoreline. Glad you liked it! :)

Thanks Neil. This was definitely one of the most unusual sunsets I've ever seen.

I have decided to ban anybody who lives near Yosemite from taking part; it is too unfair that they are getting extra help from a “higher authority :D

Keep them coming they are truly wonderful..

So here is a sunrise( posted previously ) from a couple of months ago looking over the Chebogue River in Yarmouth Co. Nova Scotia.

Great thread, felt i had to post a picture, while not up to the standards of previous posters, this is the best of what i have at the moment. ( lacks a focal point but i liked the clouds )

taken along the ridgeway, oxfordshire, England

Very nice thread and a lot of nice pictures.

Should I consider the shots I prefer, Neil_r's first two shots clearly make the list, tiziano's first shot, sparker1's second and third, kennyc's shot and dharris's shot. However, if I were forced to choose the one I really prefer, I would take sparker1's third shot from Coos Bay. In my opinion, it is absolutely, stunnigly beautiful, with perfect colors and interesting foreground. Quite simply, a perfect shot. Even more so, when I consider that according to signature, it has been taken with rather modest equipment, Digital Rebel etc.

And ofcourse, this opinion is not to underestimate other shots in this thread. Absolutely not. There are a lot of beautiful shots here. However, with sparker1's shot, there is just something that I like. Simple as that.

Canon EOS 40D and 50D, some lenses with curious red stripes and other gadgets. Previously a very satisfied owner of 20D.
