Today!

Three batteries from CDW @ 79.99 ea. Everywhere else these were $99.99 and up.

Amazon's price was ridiculous. They were in stock, so grab them while there hot!

Local supplier out of stock indefinitely, and @~$94.00, I saved about 14.00 ea.

I was waiting on the Lenmars; have heard great things about those for the 1D.
For aftermarket 5D Mark II batteries, I'll wait for a guinea pig to try them out.

It isn't necessarily a bad deal...but why do you need 3 batteries? Especially when you are dropping $80 each.

Redundancy,

Partner has 5D Mark II as do I, both of us have Battery Grips.
Don't want to be without at any event!

Batteries for my xxD series cameras are cheap, batteries for my 1D series are not.

Sounds to me like you got a good price, and grabbing extras makes complete sense to me, especially if your partner is shooting with the same body.

The price sounds right. I bought 3 extras as soon as they were produced and paid $80.00 each locally. Then within a week they were very hard to find.

Don't feel bad; $80 per isn't terrible. Even B&H and Adorama are charging $95 and neither has the LP-E6 in stock. I just ordered one from Badgergraphic at $75 and considered myself lucky. For now, 5D2 owners are being held battery hostage to Canon's new "smart" technology. Aftermarket clone batteries for the 5D2 require their own charger (can't be charged in the Canon charger) and will not show battery status when in the camera. Canon is doing for batteries what Epson did for ink cartridges. Thanks, Canon.
