$951.59 shipped from amazon.com

I was looking and looking for 6 months. Should I? Do I deserve it?

Finally just broke down and got one. :)

Hopefully the newer batches have better quality control.

I bought the generic lens hood from ebay for $6. Looks the same as $44 Canon lens hood. Anything else I should order for the lens?

I'm on the fence with getting this lens or getting another 17-40L.

wow... grats...
first time seeing Amazon.com having cheaper price than B&H tho...

only reason i was "forced" to buy from them was because i had transferred 450k hotel points with amazon gift certificates... i overpayed in most of my purchases...

grats tho...
and yea, post some pics!!!

Congrats!

It still p*sses me off that canon cannot supply a lens hood for this lens at this price point.

congrats.

Put on a good filter (like a Hoya pro1) and only use the stabilizer when you need it, and the lens will last forever and give you no problems.
