Nice shot, but I, too, don't much like the bokeh. The out of focus highlights have a bright edge to them which is, to me at least, distacting.

For me, I like out-of-focus areas to be a smooth blur. The 70-200/4L is surprisingly good in this department--much better than I expected it to be. Here are a couple of images taken recently with it. I'm no insect photographer, but getting insects in the field with such a lens ain't no picnic!

I am trying to learn, so I took some more today with my kit lens EF 18-55mm using my XT. I hope everyone does not mind that I am posting a couple of more pictures in the thread. These are completely untouched from the original RAW files, by the way.

Playing around with my 50 at f/1.4. I just love how it makes all the crap in the background disappear smoothly.

PHOTOBUCKET EMBEDDING IS DISABLED BY THIS MEMBER.

Either that's some horrible fringing... or there's an invisible wall that you're casting a shadow on. Yikes.
