I am looking to buy some adapters and old film lenses, which are not Canon. Though currently, all I own is Canon. I didn't feel comfortable with Sigma for some reason.

I thought I was fairly resolute to staying with only Canon lenses but I read peoples comments about certain non-canon lenses and I'm tempted. Going to keep reading and see what happens. :D

Canon only, "L" only (except for 100 f2.8 macro).

When I went from 6x6 to 35 mm, one of the main considerations was retaining image quality and since I couldn't afford Leica, I went for Canon. That was in the manual days before all of the automation, etc. Canon's mount was superior to Nikon's so I chose Canon. In those days, you chose the camera system by the value you placed in its lens lin-up.

Since then I've had an awesome Contax rangefinder and several Hasselblads (I like Zeiss lenses), but until recently (Nikon D700/D3/D300) Canon had the best total package balance of lens line-up, technology, feature set, of any manufacturer out there - so Canon it is.

You canon only guys must have deep pockets. There are just too many excellent third party options at great prices for me to shoot only Canon.

Until I'm rich, I'll buy based on performance, not the name on the front of the lens.

After numerous problems with 3rd party lenses, I had Sigma 10-20(soft on left side of frame with varying degrees of softness, tested 4 copies), 18-200(very slow focusing and yellowish pics), 24-70(very soft from f2.8-f7.1), Tamron 17-50(front focusing, developed a fault in 4 months- apperture blades close and open when mounting the lens and had error 01 on my 40D), I thought I would only stick with Canon lenses.

I'll let you know next month when I pick up an L series lens. Maybe it'll make me a Canon lens convert :)

I sold all my canon lenses. I replaced them with much cheaper lenses, and it made no difference to my pics whatsoever. I used the money i had leftover to finance my medium format setup. :)

Are you a CANON lens person? As in any lens on the end of your camera must be Canon. You would never buy another makers lens?

I'm a whatever lens does the job for the least outlay person. I don't give a crap if the lens has a finish that doesn't match my camera or looks 'odd'. If it does the job I want it to, what more could I ask? Hell I don't even use AF a lot of the time, so even have the occasional Zeiss on the front, confuses the hell out of the all knowledgeable staff in Jessops. :)
