As a part of the ODTUG (Oracle Developer Tools User Group) conference I am attending, we did a community help day. One problem is an invasive species (the Ice plant) from South Africa has infested the dunes crowding out the native fauna. Unfortunately the ice plant doesn't add anything to the environment, nothing eats it or uses it for eggs, etc. So...we got to pull it up by hand. All-in-all we (about 60-70 volunteers) cleared about 2-3 acres of the ice plants.
