where was this?

This was at the RCMP Sunset ride in Ottawa, Canada.

This was with the Canon 17-85mm IS lens

EXIF data is in tact
# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/800 second = 0.00125 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 9/1 = F9
# ISO Speed Ratings = 100
# Exif Version = 0221
# Focal Length = 17/1 mm = 17 mm

I bought one this weekend...I'm loving this thing...I'm extremely new to this, but it has taken me by storm...here are some pics I've taken so far...please let me know what you think...

Nice shots, I'm fairly new to this too, so don't take it in bad as I'm also here for advice. But looks like you need a bit more contrast in your Black and White image. Like in the clouds, make them stand out more. :)

Thanks

Some people, a lot of use the the 18-55mm kit lens, some shots are taken with the 55mm -250mm lens and a few with the 50mm 1.8, usually if you look at a person signature at the bottom of their post you can see what lenses they have on hand.

Oh and there is a thread dedicated to each lens, at least the 18-55 and 55-250mm lens called the nifty fifty. Check out those threads, they are encouraging to see what can reproduced with these entry level lenses.

I got my ti1 today! I'm sooo excited to have this updated edition of the rebel. I had the xti but it was stolen last week (a huge bummer).
I'll be getting the 55-250 with it soon as well! I've taken a few shots of my puppy so far but I haven't downloaded to software to my computer yet- guess I should do that now!
