I hope is going to be in the same price as 1d3 ^_^ :) huh? It was my dream camera and expecting it before I buy 5d2... it looks awesome

But I wonder.. they stop producing 1d3 allready? Or the roumor thread speaks about 1d3 increased sales..

"We're told [thanks] of a large UK dealer that has one 1D3 in stock and said that 'it was their last one'"

Canon should do a buy back or trade in's for people who bought the 1d mkIII

That is the only bit I agree with... :p Comeon canon, I want some new camera goodness for an amount I can afford ;):p

PMA 2010 February will be the release date!

Any idea of the typical timeframe between official announcement and being available in stores?

Lets hope at least they keep the same price as 1d3. If they do I will get one instead 60d or 1d3 before they discontinue the product.. :)

Not gonna happen - look at the 5d2 - debuted at over $1k more than the 5d.

3500 euro?

I think is more probably a price similar to the nikon d3x.

6000 euro.

Why similar to D3X? Similar to D3 and 1D3 initial price IMO...

Simply because:
i think probably this model will have a lot of useless megapixel so is more simple a comparison with the d3x;
this model is the top gamma of Canon so I think is very difficult that will be proposed for a price more low of the concurrency.

How can you see with the canon 5d mark ii, despite the poor AF, canon have not the slightest shame to propose the same price like the nikon 700.

2000 euro body for a poor AF!

Ah yes there was the unnecessary abundance of megapixels, a little smoke in some eyes ...

The 5DII debuted at roughly $300 less than the original 5D. When people talk about keeping the new model to the same price as the previous model they are talking about the respective launch prices. Expecting the launch price of the new model to be the same as the current price of the three year old model would be silly.

I reckon it'll be same price as initial 1D3 price just because they need to have the top end 1Ds4 with a stupid amount of MP at the D3x pricepoint....

But when Canon launch the canon 1 d mark iii there aren't any concurrence ...

However
6,000.00 EUR = 8,391.54 USD
