Came in! I'm so excited, and it really does feel like I fell in love all over again! I still don't know which other lense I want to pick up though. I think I'm going to make a poll =( I almost bought the 24-70L today it was right in my shopping cart. Then...I said no...not yet =(

Congratulations on the new purchase. Although i wish it was me posting this thread :)

A 24-70 would compliment your 70-200 perfectly on your new 5d2.. Do it :)

I'm down in Orlando on vacation with the family. Before I left, I hardly ever used my 24-70, because I prefer primes. In my 5MDH is my 5D and 24-70. That's it. Man am I glad that I didn't decide to sell the 24-70. Such a fantastic lens. The versatility of it cannot be beat. Also, many more shots than I would have thought, taken at ISO3200 and f/2.8

Name is Peter and here is my gear:
Canon 5D II, Canon 7D, Canon 40D
Glass - Zeiss 21 f/2.8 ZE, Canon 35 f/1.4L, Canon 40 f/2.8 STM, Canon 24-70 f/2.8
L, Canon 85 f/1.2L II, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, Canon 500 f/4L IS
Speedlite 580ex II, 430ex - Gitzo GT-3541XLS w/ Arca B1

I just realised you don't have a non ef-s lens for your 5d. In that case, if you're looking at zooms, then you can get no better lens that the 24-70. I'm sure you will realise after a day or so you will need something a little wider than 70mm :P

How does the shutter sound? That's the thing I love about the Mark I is the lovely, flappy shutter sound. I have a 40D and it sounds too 'mechanical' and clunky for my liking!

That's not true! I have the 28-135 USM IS LENSE THAT CAME WITH MY 40D. Yeah..I didn't really think I was going to upgrade any time soon from the 40D in October so I went along, and got myself a 10-22, 17-55. Then I kept reading on about the 5D/5DmII for awhile, and the opportunity presented itself this year so I said "Umm..yes." lol I bought the 70-200 a little after the 40D =) So now I'm just stuck on what L I want next =( I will admit my 40D did an amazing job this year xD but it's time for a little more.

Thanks for the input on the 24-70L. I think I'm just going to click the checkout button after two months of research ha. It's time to close the deaL and give it a new homee.
