seems a bit much for me. maybe if that was done selectively...only some parts of the image...

yeah it's way over done. The purple color is nasty. I seem to be unable to achieve a color balance that I like for this image.

HaroldC3 wrote in post #8307580 (external link)
Is it really that purple or a color cast from an ND filter? I like the scene, just not all of the purple.

Actually the shot was taken without NG filter. The purple color is unpopular and makes your eye tiring. :) Anyway, here is a shot of that scene with the 10 stops filter. The water is crystal clear.

Thanks JRick....he's a chocolate lab that we rescued from the shelter in November....who ever had him before brought him back after 8 months, and then the next adoptees brought him back after a few months saying he was "out of control." (They obviously never had a lab) One of the sweetest dogs I've ever had.

Thanks, I live in NY and have visited the North Shore Animal league. I've been approved to adopt but I'm always falling for the ones that have been selected. I'll keep an eye out for that breed.

I love everything about this one!

Btw. I got to try a 24-105L today. Maybe you remember that I asked about the lens earlier (mostly for traveling) and you were kind to post your opinion. It was much sharper than I had expected it to be and what a great zoom range. I have bought enough lenses for now though. I won't be getting one until I absolutely need one and I don't at this time.

Yea, I think you've got enough lenses not. ;)
Seriously though, the 24-105 is very sharp, I don't hesitate to use mine wide open.

Your work really is about stunning. Its really more of a mastery of lighting than anything else, but I always enjoy seeing it.

very nice Michael

This is beautiful.

This is sharp.

Here is one of mine from yesterday's sunset. Yeah, I boosted the vibrance. Guys let me know if this is too much.

Thanks. Beautiful shot, although I think I'd cut the vibrance back a bit.

Not a fan of the hunchy pose though. I'm just weird like that.

I like it! It's not real looking but it's still fun! Might make an interesting series if you did the same scene in different color tones.

Alejandro,

You make the IQ in the 5D2 thread look horrible sometimes, just personal opinion.

I'm pretty sure that's the focusing screen glass. It has circular ridges like that helps the picture pop more when it comes in focus.(I could be wrong but I have the same thing on my C330 and I'm guessing this is the same)

Took lots of shots yesterday at this place (west Oahu). I really like this view. Amazingly I couldn't see anybody so I took time doing my shooting.

Very nice! Did you use a grad at all or did the light just cooperate with you?

^ blimey what were you shooting?

I was one of the official photographers shooting Roll Britannia - Roller Derby. Was the first European Event over here. Its only recently picked up speed over here.

We had a few skaters over from the US. Was an epic two days but all those photos to go through now. I wish I shot JPEG now.
