I have another hmm 2500 to throw around. I bought my 24-70L, and I have a couple of bodies/lenses going up for sale here shortly too. So I am going to say I have 3k too play around with! I have a couple weddings to shoot here shortly in Colorado. I am into Fashion, and Glamor portaits. I know my Gallery certain doesn't show it, but you know! If you were stuck in Iraq for 15 months, and all you had to shoot was military folks you'd do the same!

So If you had 3K to play around with..

Softbox, monolight, Another 580exII
16-35 II f2.8, back up body? (60D, MAYBE even a 1DIV)

THIS IS A POINTLESS THREAD.

You may ask me, what fits my needs WELL they both do. Okay well I have a 40D, so that kills the body question haha, but what about the 16-35 question I mean that's a pretty good lense, and I'm not so much a prime guy. Oooo but I did want that 85L f1.2 didn't I? That is a portait beauty isn't it? BUT I have the 70-200L =/


Any colorado people on this forum?? Someone here has an addiciton to photographyyy =) Decisions...decisions.​.

You really have the main two lenses that you will ever need the 24-70 and 70-200 -- the rest are just personal preference-- but I would encourage you to pick up a 16-35 - you can get one used for $900 --- if you really want to be blown away pick up a 35L and put it on your 5D -- you will not want to take it off!

Spend the money. Buy used on this site or FM.

Maybe buy 1 new and then spend on 1 used, and pocket the rest. There is something coming down the pike next month you'll want to buy anyway.

If you're shooting in Iraq, how about a fisheye if you want to spend, spend? Maybe spend the money on a professional cleaning of all your equipment?

Yeah, lord knows my 40D/Xti need it. My Xti was ripped apart on every mission I did. I was like "poor little xti, let's send you home you aren't doing too well with this dust." 40D handled nicely though.

Hmm, everyone seems to love that 35L I might have to check it out...hmm thanks for the input!
