Hi, this will be my 1st post.

I am new to photography and I would like to share my very fist few pictures. They are all taken on auto with no editing. Lets see how I improve over the next few years.

thanks Clay, I will start reading the instructions and talk to some friends who are pros. It is very frustrating having the tools but not being able to use them properly.

More input from others will be appreciated.

Hey freshcargo-

nice first shots. The best piece of advice the kind folk here gave me was to read the manual and books related to my camera (a 30D at the time), put the camera in "M" and start shooting. Really accellerated the learning curve for me.

To date, my 30D and now 50D have been in 'green box' mode less than 1% of the time.

Really liked shots 1 & 2. Is the horizon a bit 'tilted' on #1, or is it due to the lens you used?

Hi Dave, I agree I must and will read the manual! I think the tilt is as a result of my 17-50 Tamron. i am looking forward to getting out of the green box!

i like them!

and yes the best book you can read is your camera manual.

also - #3 it looks a little crooked and #4 looks a little distorted but that might just be me.
