Hey friends,
I just bought some studio lights and I am still learning. I've been trying to figure out the different lighting styles and here is what I've come up with so far. C&C very welcome.

edit: Just realized that on 3 and 4 there is a bit of the light stand in the frame..

First two do look a little odd, what do the unedited originals look like - could we see?

The first two are crops of a three person group. The hair looks really bad I know. I'm at work at the moment, but as soon as I can get on my laptop I'll share the originals.
Thanks for the comments thus far!

1 and 2 look overly processed (skin smoothing). I like the flick of the hair in 3.

Lighting is getting there, but hold back on the skin processing.

Keep an eye on the blur/skin softening mask too as it seems to have blurred some of the hair (middle, right) of the first two.

A few also need a bit of cloning or cropping to remove the edge of the backdrop poking in at the edges.

I like the shots it self looks like Im looking at a teen magazine, just over done on the close up of the skin processing.

I don't understand why one would do so much skin processing as most young women have pretty good skin.

Are we all wrapped up into the glamour post processing look from the magazines. ;)

Maybe it's just me but I prefer a more natural facial skin look with minimal post processing if any.

Thanks for the critiques.
I'm shooting with her tonight so I will definitely take heed to everyone's recommendations.
