The last picture is amazing!

Thanks. I liked the way the flags in the foreground set off the stones.

Nice job... I grew up not all that far from there and had several friends with kids in school.. so living in Florida it was tough watching it all and wondering about who might be in those buildings...

An excellent memorial and great photos

thanks

Thanks for the comments, Garry. I can't imagine -- even after talking to my sister-- how it must have felt in those agonizing hours waiting and wondering if someone you knew was gone.

I always think that memorials are the hardest to portray. If you get it wrong, you can upset too many people. Great shots, but i agree with aroundlsu.

Thanks so much. Yeah, the birthday one really got to me too... Hard to keep an emotional distance when something like that slaps you upside the head.

i did not know that memorial was there.

i graduated from tech the spring before this happened - but still had a good amount of friends down there, it was a scary time, certainly.

You'll have to stop by and see it the next time you're down there. It's very moving.

Absolutely. My sister teaches at Blacksburg HS and between the faculty who had kids and spouses at Tech, the kids who had parents or siblings at Tech, and the alums who were students and staff at tech, "scary" doesn't begin to describe it.

I love Blacksburg. Great little town.
