hey guys i recently have been looking at pictures of the tokina 11-16 lens and really think about getting it. I was thinking about selling my tamron lens and purchasing a tokina 11-16 and a 18-55is to match my 55-250is. as of right now, im trying to think if it would be worth the little extra cash i put into it. any opinions?

Erm, if I were you, I'd purchase the Tokina 11-16 and keep the rest... the 18-55 doesn't really need to be used to 'match' anything...

You already have a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 so keep it instead of getting the 18-55 IS lens. Do buy the Tokina 11-16 if you wan wider. That would make a a really nice setup.

Agree. Forget the 18-55. Keep the Tamron. Get that great Tokina.

Then start saving up for something you really need... a macro? a fast prime telephoto?

I really like the 11-16 personally, but I really do not see a reason for purchasing the kit lens. I don't have either one, but the Tamron is supposed to be a lot better.

If you NEED to sell the Tamron to buy the 11-16, the you need to take some time to determine which focal length is more important to you. The Tokina is going to cost twice as much as the Tamron but will have half the uses. Personally, I would get more use out of the 11-16, but if YOU need a standard zoom more that an UWA, then you have some thinking to do.

If you need some more help deciding, the lens photo archive can really help out.
