Focus screen has some dirt.....

The focus screen on my xsi has some dirt on it.... I used a rocket blower on it... but it is still there.... I used it until I got tired (50 pumps or more) .... and this is the thrid time have tried it.... what else can I do?

also I have the dust pump 100/400 and use it in a dusty place.. not sure but I think this is how the dirt got in there....

I would not worry too much about it.
If you use your camera enough you are bound to pick up some dirt.
You could take the focus screen out and try to clean it with a blower but it is very delicate so be careful.

guess I forget to mention that I am going to be selling it soon.....and to someone that I know..... that is the main reason to get it cleaned....

I have tried everything too I can't get the crap off. I hope when I send my equipment in to be cleaned they will take care of it. Iraq did a good number on my stuff this year.

I don't think you can take out the focusing screen on the rebels... at least not as easy as the xxD and xD bodies. It's most likely that the dirt on on the upper side of the screen which can not be blown off with your blower and only way it to make a trip to CSC.

that was going to be my next question.... could it be on the top ?

hhmmm... dont really want to pay to have it cleaned right before I sell it.

steveja!! forget about it! I've learned the lesson the hard way. Single mistake on the focusing screen would ruin the AF light points. It would become blurry, cloudy, and barely see them when shooting outdoors. Though it's cheap to be replaced.. but it's hard to find.
