Sigma or Tamron Superzoom

I think I'd like to get a superzoom as a "walking around lens", but am wondeirng of anyone has an opinion on the merits of the Tamron 18-270 versus the Sigma 18-250.

Failing that, how about an opinion on the merits of the two brands in general. Knowing that one is generally more highly regarded than the other would help me make a decision also.

My primary photography is of the various golf courses I play, and the wildlife and such I see when I'm out there, as well as of family trips, etc.

I own the love the Tamron 18-270 VS and had a Tamron 18-200 before that. The 18-270 was a huge improvement in my opinion due to the VS. I use it on my backup camera which is a D30.
