Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM

OK, here's a street corner, an interior detail in sepia and a landscape. Man this thing has fantastic detail even in less than ideal lighting conditions.

Not as much as I would have liked but this coming week promises to be better for that. This one is from today, overlooking the glacial potholes in Shelburne Falls, MA.

I can't really see the need for dragging around a tripod in normal daylight hours as you should be easily able to get jitter free shots even with higher f/stop settings. The ones I took today were all with overcast skies @f/11 and didn't have a single blurred shot. You can also shot wide open @ f/2.8 and still get good overall sharpness with this lens as long as you're not right on top of your subjects. I'd only bring out a tripod if I were doing a lot of HDR's otherwise, leave it behind and travel lighter!

Video looks great. I have yet to try the video on my 5DMKII... How did you mount the camera to your dash?
