Good idea, but again a UK list would be good, or even better a list of recommended retailers from personal experience, everyone knows that Adorama etc are massive in the USA but it would be nice to have a list of sites that are worth looking at for both the USA & UK.

Google is a good starting place but there is sometimes nothing better than personal recommendation.

just my £0.02 worth

Imagine that...
If you have a link for authorized dealers in your country I can gladly add it to the list...

The list is simply a list provided by Canon USA of authorized dealers, PUT OUT BY CANON...this is NOT a list of RECOMMENDED DEALERS.

I did not create this list nor do I endorse any of the dealers on it. There have previously been lengthy discussion as to whether certain retailers were authorized for validity of WARRANTY and REBATE purposes.
In the US, Canon will only warrant equipment purchased from authorized dealers.

from my personal experience and in no particular order:

Amazon, quick delivery no problems with after sales and sometimes hard to beat on price.

http://www.mpbphotographic.co.uk/ (external link) good for second hand items, they don't have a massive stock but prices are reasonable and i have found the descriptions of the condition of items to be accurate.

and finally an eBay seller, everyone knows Kerso but i have found this seller to be reliable and very competitively priced; http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/DigiGood__W0QQ_armrsZ1 (external link)

All these are aimed at UK Buyers.

hope this is of some help to someone.

This one was compiled by Canon USA. Maybe try contacting Canon Europe and see if they also have a list. I know that Canon USA used to get absolutely slammed by calls and e-mails inquiring about whether dealer "xxxxxxxxxx" is authorized or not, hence the list (which was just updated 3 days ago by Canon USA).

Does anyone know if this is still a valid Authorized Dealer List?
I am Considering Tiger Direct-- I have bought from them before -- no problems -- but not camera equipment!
