Rey I would consider this a statement from someone who prefers literal interpretation. I like that too. For me impressionist art in photography during the early 20th century is some of the most moving imagery. I tire of literal interpretations unless the subject is absolutely riveting and that usually implies a non literal interpretation in a literal soup, meaning a unique way to express the subject using literal techniques.
Not at all. In fact my favorite painting is Nude Descending a Staircase by Marcel Duchamp, and I am a huge fan of Claude Monet. Usually when I see a thread in here, it is illustrating the technical prowess of a particular body, in your case the 5D2 at low light. My expectations were quite different when I initially clicked this thread. The effect you've shown could be achieved by much lesser cameras (at a much lower price point). I hope I didn't offend, and I'm all for trying new things and exploring diverse artistic outlets, but if I was looking for information about a 5D2, your images wouldn't motivate me to make that purchase. Perhaps the forum, Still Life, B/W & Experimental, would have been a more appropriate forum to showcase your artistic exploits.
