Thanks, unfortunately my lens had so called "decentering defect" (left corner was very soft) so I sent it back.

im planning on buying a filter for this

will this lens vignette on a regular sized CPL filter? or do I need a slim filter?

im shooting with a canon 40d

A slim filter is recommended, even better is to buy an adapter ring so you can use an even bigger size filter.

Apologies for the delay, the camera was on back order for ages!

18mm seems to be where the vignette starts on this. I dont think that I'll bother keeping the lens for the 5D TBH.

Albeert, you need a GND filter for shots like that. It will really help.
