I figured I'd post some photos of my Flipside 400 loaded up with gear, because I had a
tough time finding similar pictures when I was searching for a bag.

Here is the "standard" configuration. 70-200 mounted to a gripped body down the
middle with one row on each side for additional items. If you take out the divider for
the section that has the microfiber in it, then you can fit the 70-200 with the hood on
forwards.

And this is what I originally hoped to accomplish when I started by bag search: 70-200
mounted to a gripped body AND 17-55 mounted to a gripped body. All of the same items
as the above picture except for the microfiber cloth. No matter what I do this seems to
leave slightly less room.

The second configuration is a winner for me because I like to have both bodies with
lenses mounted and ready to go. With everything you see in the pictures as well as
memory cards, battery chargers, batteries, etc the bag weighs 19lbs. I wore it around
for a few hours yesterday (with all gear in the backpack) and it was quite manageable.

Thanks for the photos and explanation of the setup. The flipside series are pretty nifty in general, and having two bodies w/ lens attached is a great setup with the flipside feature is very neat.

That's a lot of nice gear. Just wondering how heavy that pack is and how your body feels after wearing it for a while?

Nice pics. I was going to order the 300 when I ran across a photog with the 400. He had ordered the 300 and found it wasn't big enough for a mounted 300 f/4L IS and sent it back in exchange for a 400. So I'll be getting a 400 myself soon. My only question if why you'd carry around the 17-55 and the 18-55? Personally I'd leave the 18-55 at home and save the weight and space for something else. They're redundant focal lengths and the 17-55 is 10x better.

Great pics. Clearly more gear then I have but excellent configs. I love my 300 for what I have but more gear and I'd have a few problems.

Thanks.

The "flip" feature actually did come in handy a couple times tonight while I was walking around!

It does get pretty heavy when worn for long periods (walked nearly an hour to and from fireworks tonight).

18-55 gets thrown on the other body when my wife wants to take photos as well :p

Both the 18-55 and 55-250 are good backups if I don't need the extra space.

Thanks. I have a bad feeling I could outgrow this bag eventually....

But for now it's great!

Thanks!

What needs to be added to this in order for it to be considered a "review" for the official stickey thread?

Does this bag accommodate the 300 f2.8 attached to a 1D or gripped body? I'm wondering about the total length down the middle. And if I could get the 70-200 f2.8 down one side and also carry the 16-35 and extenders maybe alone the other side. I realize it would be very heavy, but there have been times I've wanted to carry this complement of gear.

Cameras: 1DX, 1D4, 20D, 10D, S90, G2
Lenses: Canon 10-22mm, 16-35mm f2.8L II, 24-70mm f2.8L, 70-200mm f2.8L IS, 300mm f2.8L IS, 200mm f2L IS, 50mm f1.4, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.2L, 1.4x TC, 2x TC, 500D macro, Zeiss 21mm
Lighting: 580EX, Elinchrom 600 RX's, D-Lite 4's, ABR800, 74" Eli Octa, 100cm/70cm DOs, Photoflex Medium Octa and reflectors, PW's, Lastolite Hilite, Newton Di400CR bracket

Lowepro: (external link)
1 pro DSLR with lens attached (300mm f/2.8) plus an additional body, 4-6 additional lenses, chargers and cords, filters, flash unit and 3 memory cards

The 300 f2.8 is what? 25-26cm in length, the interior of the 400 is about 42-43cm so that should be fine. The other lenses I'm not so sure about though. I saw the 400 yesterday at a local shop, it's pretty massive inside but you'd want to try it out first.
