So went to the b&h website today to try and purchase a 35 1.4L or a 24-70L and noticed they got another price increase. I have been checking everyday to see when these lenses would be available and noticed the are still out of stock. What I find funny about it all is that these out of stock lenses are increasing in price. Just yesterday the 35 1.4L was $1250 and now its $1300... the 24-70L was $1270 and now is $1350 and the 85 1.8 was $410 and now is $440..etc. So what the hell they just had a price increase after the rebate and now another??? This is insanity.

You should be happy you don't live in Poland ;). 35L costs here 1750-1800$ and it's one of the cheapest you can get on an auction site Allegro from some camera shops.

If you would come to Poland and sell 35L for 1450-1500$ new, you could easilly sell 100 lenses and be wealthy ;).

24-70L costs about 1600$.

SO don't complain and buy ;). I would happily import a lens from USA but USA warranty isn't respected here.

You'd still have to pay customs duty and taxes so either way it will still cost alot.

I got my 70-200 2.8 IS L from the states when a friend of mine went back there. She bought it along with a B+W filter for around 1814 USD tax included. I checked store prices again and I'm glad that I was able to buy the 70-200 2.8 IS before the price increase lol.

Same with the 50L which was $1449 yesterday and now $1599 this morning! I had it in my cart to purchase yesterday but unfortunately some things came up and didn't get to finish checking out. I was very angry to have to pay an extra $150 less than 24hrs later! I would guess it's because of the fall rebates just around the corner, they seem to jack the price up each time canon offers a rebate. It seems like that is the trend anyways.

Don't know where your looking but the Canon 35 f/1.4L cost $1,269.00 from B&H. The Canon 24-70 2.8L is $1,319.00 at B&H. The Canon 85 f/1.8 is $419.00 at B&H.
