Depends, i have a tamron 28-75 which can go on crop or FF. Just depends the glass you have. Although the 1.45 is intriguing and adds another twist to this long thread of speculation and thoughts. I love it!

New sensor size? I would find that hard to believe that suddenly they just make up something new.

We just have a couple days! So let's just wait and see!

This makes absolutely no sense. What would the purpose be?

Folks are used to matching focal lengths against a 1.6x sensor. I'd hate to have to adjust to yet another standard...

you guys realize Nikon's already running 1.5 as are most other manufactures? Also, canon isn't even 1.6, that's a rounded number, they're somewhere in the 5s, like 1.55 or something like that.

3rd party lenses are designed for other cam manufacturers as well, which use 1.5x crop. Canon is the odd one with a smaller sized 1.6x crop. So on a '1.45x' EF-S lenses will have more potential issues than 3rd party.
I'd rather a natural vignette than have to add it in post. heh.

Actually with the new AF who here wants to bet a good chunk of Sigma's glass is going to need a rechip! :D

Not necessarily, it could Err 99 period..

Sigma glass has a tendency to do so everytime the AF system is changed..

Also the metering system sounds different too...

Just stating there could be issues with Sigma glass..

Ha ha... I only laugh at that because I've experienced it before and it wasn't fun :)

As for the 1.45x... it doesn't sound too far fetched and you'd have to think that Canon would need to do be trying some sort of new methods if they want to kill the APS-H sensor and get decent IQ from an 18mp APS-C sensor.

What I'll be waiting for is... what grip do we get to buy now and will it be better than the POS BG-E2N they shoved on us for the 40D/50D (i hate the ergonomics) and what new batteries do we get to buy? ;)

I agree..why do 1.45x? Makes NO sense..

1.5 I could MAYBE see..it MIGHT have slightly better IQ...but I honestly dont see why Canon would do that and possibly end up severely hurting IQ of their EF-S lenses...
