Muahahaha glad I held of on the Macro lens as I heard the rumor about this. Now I just need to convince my wife somehow??? She is still in a bad mood regarding my last purchase now this and the 7D the world is coming to an end, at least mine will if I continue this idea of early christmas gift shopping.

I'm really glad they aren't discontinuing the non-L model. I thought that lens was incredible as is, and at a price I could afford.

Usually, but this a 100mm medium telephoto lens.


I have the current one, and I don't often put it on the camera thinking I am going to take macro shots, but sometimes find myself doign just that. Without a tripod handy.

At $1049 retail, it is a pretty nice peice of glass. Now I am just wondering if I should upgrade.
