Okay folks, it's been three months since the last meet-up (I don't think the Yosemite meet ever happened).

Who's up for a shoot?

If you go to Yosemite, call them ahead of time to see if there's any fires in the area. I went 4th of July weekend (very bad idea). Traffic in the valley was horrible, and there were a couple fires in the area that smoked up the sky.

Just got into Cupertino for the next 6 months. I'd be up for seeing what this west coast has to offer.

Pittsburg, East Bay, semi-retired and have decided to get serious about the photo business. I would like to find a professional photographer to work with in the Bay Area. I will be happy to be a gopher to learn more, especially lighting.
Thanks, Bruce

Hi Alan.

I heard Fort Ross is on the chopping block, I might try to make it out there Thursday or Friday of this week. I know it's late notice but I thought I would run it up the flagpole and see if there was any interest. I will know by tomorrow (Tuesday) which day works best for me.

Damn, it's been a while since our last meet! However, I did take some time aside to take pictures here and there. :)

Thursday is Back to School night for me (my daughter's school).
But I don't see why I can't shoot in the day time (hope for overcast :p )
Friday is good for me.

Next weekend I'll be heading up to Reno for the Balloon Races. Just for Saturday morning though.
I want some shots of the balloons filling at night.

What does your schedule look like Denzil? Can you shoot on a weekday?

Edit: I just looked up WHERE Fort Ross (external link) is. Duh. That's a long haul for me. Thursday would be out. I wouldn't have any time to shoot after getting there, before I had to turn around and get home.

Yeah, I can shoot on weekdays...
Mondays: Don't have class until 6 PM
Tuesdays/Thursdays: Don't have class until 3 PM
Wednesdays: Don't have any class at all but have an obligation at 1:30 PM (class TA)
Fridays: Off!

I know it's a weird schedule but it's my last semester! :)

Hello, I am just a guy with a Cannon, I've been reading and researching and I like how that research has improved the results with my XTi. I live in Your backyard, and I have basically been "trolling" this forum since my Join Date.

I have "virtually met" on this forum some very nice people, and I look forward to being one of the group in the near future. Currently this cold had me restricted to quarters so I was unable to get out and capture any shots of the Bay Bridge Sheenanigans. (Which by the way http://www.ktvu.com/index.html (external link) indicates Tuesdays Commute might be a wee bit hectic. Lucky for me, I don't have to do that route twice a day ).

Anyways, Hello and thank you for allowing me to introduce myself formally to this group.

ps. IF anyone sees my mind, please send me a pm, as I think I've lost it. thank You.

Are there any good photo stores in the south bay area? One where I can shop for lenses and other camera equipment...

Thanks

I know this is an old thread, but I was in a pretty nice place in SJ area. It is just a few blocks down from Fry's and across the street from Burger King. Sorry I don't have the name. I almost bought a new Pentax there. Luckily, I came to my senses. That was before I got my current shooter, too.

More than likely that was San Jose Camera, I have a good friend that works there.
