I've got to send my 70-200 for repairs. Anyone know which service repair center is the best and fastest.

Jamesburg NJ
or
Newport News VA

Being in Mississippi, they are both a long way.:o

Best thing to do is contact them and tell them your problem and they will send you everything you need to know about mailing it to them and where to send it.

The Canon building here in Newport News is only about 3 miles from my house and when I contacted them about a problem they were having me send it to Jamesburg, NJ.

Olympus: E-M10 II & 14-150mm, E-PL5 & 14-42mm EZ
Fujifilm: X100F, X-T30, 16mm f2.8, 35mm & 50mm f2, 18-55mm, 55-200mm
All the world's indeed a stage and we are merely players performers and portrayers.

I agree about contacting Canon. I called last week about a repair to a 17-55mm IS and they wanted me to send it to Newport News. I suspect they are managing the work load at each location and know where it can be serviced the quickest. jmho

btw, I live in south central KY.

Call them. Yes, it must be work load related; I was told last month to send a 17-55 IS to Jamesburg, NJ (and I am in VA), though the CS person made it sound like it's equipment model related.

Thanks for comments. I contacted service directly and told to send it to NJ. However when I went online to do a repair ticket, it gave me the opinion. Regardless it is on the way to NJ. I feel so alone without it since football is in progress.

Update - It took exactly two weeks from the time I shipped to the time I received the lens back. I also shot a volleyball game last night and the lens seems to work better than ever. Could not be more happy with the results.

If you send it to Va. they will forward it to NJ. Send it to NJ. I've sent them 2 lenses with excellent results

Think of it this way - there are really TWO centers; Jersey and Cali.
