Why does the 7D have so many upset?

It should have sony upset! Just check out 7D vs. a850 at iso6400 on imaging resource! 7D ha as much resolution and less noise with 40% of the image sensor area of the a850.

I want a 1DmIII =(

because people want to be able to blame the name canon chose for a camera on their bad shots.

Wow it seems that the replies in this thread are more angry than any anti-7D sentiments I have seen so far.

a lot of the reasons people are so upset with the 7D lie in the sensor. Giving people all those 1 series features in a non 1 series is awesome, especially for the price. The only 1 series owners that should be upset are the 1Dii/1Dii'N' guys because it's going to kill their resale... But the next 1 series will surely smoke the 7D so that won't be an issue (either less MP and more ISOs or the same MP and better/more ISO in a pro body, I'm also betting FF).

but people wanted an inexpensive FF body that could handle better than the 5Dii. So the people with that body feel it should have also had all those features instead of the MP (or with them). Those that don't want FF also look at it and see the MP wars burning on and wonder how much better it could have been with ~12mp? Why the had to crap 18mp on APS-C we'll never know. It might be a damn good sensor, but no matter how good it is, it could have been that much better with less MP.

I've never had a 7D so how can I miss its features.

I will most probably aspire to one though, as it appears to provide an acceptable ammount of the feartures I find deisireable on the 1Dmk3 but at a more attractive price.

You're right. It's almost as if some of the posters here are angry at people for not being completely thrilled with the new 7D. Disappointment I can understand. Anger with people for having an opinion, I cannot.

There is validity to the argument that you are better off having the right tool for the job you need to do.

I have two DSLRs that whilst each can do a lot of the things the other can do there are certain specific activities that each is better at. This is reflected in most things, I have a sports bike and a tourer, both do pretty much the same thing but I would not take my Harley on a track nor would I like to do 1000 miles in a day on my triumph.

Having a single tool to do everything will always lead to compromise somewhere, so one either has to live with that compromise or have specialist tools for special activities.
