Hello, I hope I am posting this in the right area. Didn't see an introduction section so excuse me if this if out place. I am totally new to DSLR's and photography in general. I enjoy graphic/web design as a hobby and as a way to broaden my abilities and interests I chose to purchase the Canon Rebel T1i. Unfortunately due to this Texas weather I'm unable to take the pictures I would like too take. I really hope to learn alot from this forum, photography is a new medium for me but I am eager to learn as much as I can! I'll update this thread as soon as i'm able to take some picture worth posting.

Welcome fellow Texan!! Although the weather changes here at a moments notice, when it is nice there are some beautiful opportunities in this state.

welcome, this is the best forum to learn from. There are some awesome photographers here, and whats better, is that they help.

Yes - Welcome -

I agree - the number & calibre of great photographers that daily visit here is an amateur's dream - help is just a click away. Got my first DSLR a few months ago and the more I have learned - the more I realize there is so so much more to learn. As many say - just get out and shoot and enjoy the hobby.

Welcome! I did a Google search 4 years ago to find a place to learn about the 10D I got. I haven't left yet! It's a great place to get advice, and to see how others use their gear. Within 4 years, let me warn you, I have a lot more gear and now I am a pro shooter, traveling all over the world. If you put your heart into learning and actually learning all you can, shooting 500 images in one day, you will learn. Don't let any dust settle on your new camera.
