Got a great deal on the Canon 100 macro from Adorama. It's a used lens in excellent condition, arrived looking perfect! So what should I expect from my first macro lens? I've heard that it can be a bit of a learning curve.

I suggest you stop posting here and go out and use it.

It's a great lens. I have it myself and have used it for a variety of shoots. It's great for Macro (on a tripod), excellent for portraits too, and I've even tested it from ringside at a boxing match and found it to be a decent performer.

Learning curve? The depth of field can get really thin when shooting macro, so you might have to stop down if you want things in focus.

Congrats! It's a great lens!
