Wow! Not a post for three pages of threads

I was at a big cat sanctuary yesterday independent of work, so can actually post something I haven't lost copyright over! The first is Jags the creatively named Jaguar, where I also tried this border thing some of you guys use. I can see why you do, it is a nice way to frame your pictures, but simply not my thing. I also put on a signature just to see how it looked, and again, I can see why some of you guys do it, but not my thing. I'll just grumble lots if my stuff is nicked by someone. Shot straight through bars with my 300 on a tripod.

The pony was shot with my mate's 24 mm f/1.4 (II), and my god what a piece of glass! I would actually seriously consider getting my self a copy if I hadn't spent so much on glass this year, but am seriously looking at my 135 and telling myself I never seem to use the thing, much like the 100-400 I just got rid of... Whilst the 135 is a seriously lovely lens, a 24 f/1.4 is going to be far more useful inside small animal enclosures, where light is also tight.

Beatiful shots! What lens did you use in these? - the 16-35?

Thanks. I didn't bring my 16-35 since I wanted to travel light. The shots were taken either on the 24-70 or the 70-200 f/4. I figured that the 24mm end was wide enough.

The first is Jags the creatively named Jaguar

When I saw this picture it reminded me of one of mine own from a local zoo I went to on Labor Day.

It's a Tobacco Hornworm with wasp pupae of the Braconidae family. These wasps fed on the hornworm while in the larval stage and are now pupating into adults.
