This isn't really shooting in michigan but I thought I'd pass the info along, I know several people that are going to it. I'd be going but I'll be out of state.

Mad River and NKP Museum Night Photo Shoot.

Don't forget... Today is the Hamburg Festival and Railroad Days and the Pere Marquette 1225 will be running excursions from Hamburg to Osmer siding and back. Great chance to shoot the 1225.

Forgot all about it! But I read your last post and we headed down there after dropping one of our kids off at school. We chased it back up to M-59 and got a couple of decent shots.

Jon.

Yeah, I didn't get to go down and take the kids like I wanted to - had to get the pool closed down for the winter. Don't forget, Oct. 3rd (also "Day in North America" - heading to Ohio for that one) is the doubleheader trip from Cadillac to Alma. It will be the last chance to shoot the NKP 765 before it heads back to Indiana.

Do you have a link to the Cadillac to Alma trip? It travels within a block from my house. Usually the train goes from Cadillac to Uma, with another group, turns around and heads back.

Great, thanks. 2006 the Polar Express went by and I didn't have any photography gear, it set fires every few hundred yards and the DNR postponed its return for a day so it could be followed back.

2007 I got this photo from my RC Heli Southeast of Marion, disappointed it wasn't a steam train because I'd planned it for a year.

2008, this was from my mast at the old train station in Cadillac.

It'll be great to have a Steam train go through again. It's been a few years.
If it's not windy I'll either use the mast or RC Plane, if it's windy I'll use the kite.

Nice shots Troy. I think I remember the top shot from a old post of yours...

Mike, I was wondering if you made it out for the 1225 or not.

Jon.

Just to test the waters without sending out PMs to everyone, who would for sure go to Waterford Hills for sports car club racing on October 4th?
I don't see any point in arranging a shoot with the club for 2-3 people.

Without one solid "I'll be there!" reply, I'm not going to bother the WHRRI people with this. If someone just wants to meet me there, then say so here.

I've been doing the "nature /wildlife " thing lately. Been going to Kensington metro park and will go to Lake Erie metro park tomorrow to try and get some raptor shots. If you didn't know about lake Erie metro park this time of year ,read this about wildlife viewing:http://www.michigandnr.com …slp/108LakeErie/index.htm (external link)

Been to busy.... I'll be shooting something this weekend while I'm in MD/VA, my dad and I are attending a Canon Discovery Day while we're down there. Next weekend is the big one for me though.
