Nice work royboy. When I scrolled down I thought it was a Tony photo at first.
What master are you using to trigger your flashes and did you use ettl or manual?

Thanks! I use a 580exII for master, 580exII for main, and 430exII for hair light(sometimes).

Here's another senior from last night. w/580exII in a Westcott Apollo 28x28 softbox triggered w/RadiopoppersPx, Ettl. There are more of her session on this post: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=754448

Great colors + lighting but they both look a bit soft.

The focus on the second one looks like it's on the rocks in front of his feet.

2nd time playing with my Cybersync and OCF setup. Some of my favourites from the session. In the process of reading through this awesome thread.

it is a hair soft. thats the ONLY problem shooting with an ND8 filter into the sun. sometimes the focus creeps a bit. but luckily the dof was enough to still grab a lot of the detail in his face. at 100% it looks good.

as for the first one. its dead on, i dont know what you think looks soft about it. i can count the pores on his face. lol

Ok, let me rephrase. Neither are "soft". The focus is just not in the right place. Especially in the second one.

On the first one, your DoF is barely a sliver so that's probably why there are parts of him that look "soft".

*shrug*

Great work bryan, the colours are very nice.
I think Daniel is mainly commenting about the second one where it seems the focus is at the rocks in front of him. The first one is perfectly fine, just a narrow DOF.
