Family on the rocks...

I had the pleasure last week of shooting this family at our local river. Shot strobist with a 580EXii off camera thru an umbrella. Comments appreciated as always.

1. (1/25 sec, f7.1, ISO200)

I like both shots. Very good looking family too.

Lovely family. I like the second shot , with the water blur .
Both photos looks a a little bluish to me ....

Yeah these are wonderful! Did you have to use a ND filter or was the light pretty weak by that time? Maybe fast moving water at .8 of a second.

Thanks! No ND. The sun had gone behind the hills. I had gone here the day before and tried some test shots and the slower ones (slower than what I shot this one at) did not look as well because the water is moving so fast here.

Love the second shot...... that would look amazing HUGE on canvas.........Perfect​.

I really like the photos. The second, I don't know if it's me, but I find the trees in the background distracting.
That's only if I had to nitpick.

Awesome job but I would have to agree with biffbyun, I think a tighter crop all the way around on the second would work well. That's only if I too had to nitpick.

Awesome shots both of them, I love the slow shutter effect on the 2nd one. REally well done, For me the first shot has a slight blue/cyan cast, that could be easily fixed in PS. Excellent Work!!!!!

Very nice. I agree with Diego that the first one has blue cast in it. Drop down the blues a touch and it will be perfect.

Yep first one has a blue cast.. and I find that one section of trees to be distracting..clone them out.

Kudos to the family for being so still and not blinking as well

Maybe some warming up in the WB for the background/scene perhaps?
