Hello Folks!,

I have a question on what you will recommend for Street Photography:

I currently have a 20D with the lenses in my sig. What do you suggest on getting a Canon 5D mark II (FF) or go with the new Canon 7d (CF). I mostly shoot people and landscapes.

(MY GUT feeling is to go with Full frame, but my budget conscious mind says get the cheaper one, and just work with it)

Thanks in advance...

5D will do everything you need. Anything else would be over-spend in my opinion.

Well

Prices I could get online

Canon 5D Refurbished $1484.95
Canon 5D m II $2429.10

so roughly $1000 between a MARK I and MARK II

I have the 5D MkII and have the 7D on order. If I was in your shoes depending on what you shoot and looking at your lens collection, I would get the 7D ( puts you up to date on the latest technology) and save the extra money for accessories or more glass.

That could buy you a 70-200 f2.8 or f4 IS (if you want one of course).

I'd say 5D.

I have my eye on that lens for a while ;)

So yeah currently my decision is between the original 5D and the 7D just trying to make up my mind...

IMO, if you're worried about budget, go for a used 5D.

Go with the 7D, newer technology over the 5D. You will also be able to keep all you lenses.

I think the only lens that will not work on a FF is the 80-200 one. I think the rest are ok for FF

I'm thinking it will.

It's an EF Lens.
