And power. No traffic lights thought. They may even have broadband
Its worked out well, its giving us a bit of time to think it through.
We would make it a base. Get the kids through high school then work out the next step after they have left home.

We just want a life style change. We like where we live here but we are sick of the cost. Just need to make sure we will be better off in Blenheim $$$ wise.
We dont want to sell and down grade in Auckland.

Heading out of Nelson back to blenheim. Was the only part of Nelson I liked.

One thing about Nelson is that it's not far to visit any type of scenery you want within an hour or two.

Nelson Lakes

Other news.

In the weekend a group of us had a photo exposition at a big old timer fair. Went quite well. I don't think I sold anything though.. but the owner of a BMW 328 Mille Miglia which I had photographed.

This one

Apparently complained that my photo was of a replica, and that he had a real one (One of only 4 in the world). He might contact me to photograph it for him.

Also my Laptop screen has totally given up the ghost now. It gave problems for a while, then worked for a while. But is now permanently blank.

External monitor works.

I have to decide what to do.

In order of price.
I figure if I send it in to repair it will take at least 3 weeks & cost $$$

1. Buy an expensive and good external monitor, & use the laptop with this for a while. till I can afford a new laptop or desktop
2. Buy a new laptop, then get this repaired and give it to her.
3. Buy a high end desktop & monitor & then get this repaired & give to my wife.

External monitor sounds good if you still don't have the funds...

180 Pano of grapes and sunset.

Miles and Miles of these vineyards makes kiwifruit look small scale.

What Duncan said... My bloody eyes were drawn left, right and centre!

Have been good.

Been using the little Olympus P&S lately (all those shots bar the last were with it) as I'd rather a 10m waterproof camera around my neck on the bike than the 20D :D

Having fun photoing/videoing some of the 3-hour motorbike cross country races.

I'd like to [photo/video]graph the 6-hour next weekend but it seems like I'll be racing it instead...

Probably won't be any quicker around though.

Fascinating. Looks like a mirror image. As there are mountains on the left and on the right.

I might go that route.. Just get a new monitor for now.

On the other hand, my wife desperately needs a new computer.

Speaking of monitors.

Anyone got any recommendations on which Monitor to buy.

I'm looking at 24 or 26 inch.

In plane switching 24" (1920x1200 not the 1080 sillyness), Dell, LG or HP are the current fads for these.

If its cheap its TN or PVA, i.e. rubbish for editing photos on (imo) some people argue otherwise...some people don't shoot with L glass ;)

Fran you big tease :)

OK DESISION HAS BEEN MADE

Next week our house goes on trademe for 3 weeks. I will do the photos.
If it sells then we are off to ......... ok lets worry about that then.
If nothing happens then we will rethink it.

While Blenheim is not perfect for what I want (landscapes) it is the best base for our family and Sandra comming back up to Ack every 3 weeks to see mum.
Greymouth would be better for me for landscapes but not Sandra or work for me.

We would look at getting a vehical to do weekend trips and tent etc. Motel in winter

I might go for the Eizo Flexi scan 24"
There are several models, EV24IIWH, S2431WH and EV24IIWE which are all in the 600 Euro range.

I might look at getting one of those.
Then later if I get a powerfull desktop, I have a good monitor.
