Everyone here expecting magic are going to be seriously let down . . .

I don't want magic, I want a D300 that uses Canon lenses. It looks like Canon has delivered.

While waiting I muted the colors and ran Neat Image on TeamSpeed's picture. Looks better on my 5 year old uncalibrated CRT now.

I saw the same type quotes from the intro of the 5D II, but I think some folks have been let down.

I think you have to take a look where this camera falls in the Canon lineup.

Exactly. We're expecting an excellently-performing Canon camera and based on what we've seen thus far, it looks like it will be one!

No..5D II still around 1/3-2/3 stop better than 7D. It does very well for a crop camera.

Not sure if any images taken with 7D have been uploaded but just in case it hasn't here is one that I just took at the shop while trying the camera. ISO at 2500.

How would you want to be Simon right now? Can you imagine the pressure? He'd better post something that would make Henri Cartier-Bresson proud!

LOL Seriously!! If I were in his shoes and people were asking me to post photos at ISO3200 while standing on my head in a rainstorm with six birds behind me, a cow 10 meters away, with no NR applied, I'd take my camera out and enjoy it without giving a second thought to such requests ;)

Just how do you have a 7D when they are not even available yet? Did you purchase from another country?

Here's a shock for you. Outside the US of A there's a big, wide world, with fluffy clouds, roads, cars, electricity, computers and even cameras.

There are also things called other countries. If you look in a special book, called an atlas it has nice pictures which show you the shape and location of these countries.

Simon (the chap with the 7D) lives on a small island called The United Kingdom where the 7D is available.

It's a funny old world ;)
